About the Author

Russ White, CCIE No. 2635, CCDE 2007::1, CCAr, has more than 30 years of experience in designing, deploying, breaking, and troubleshooting large-scale networks. Russ holds an MSIT from Capella University, a MACM from Shepherds Theological Seminary, and a PhD in progress from Southeastern Theological Seminary. Ethan Banks, CCIE No. 20655, Routing & Switching, has been in IT since 1995, working early in his career as a systems engineer for Novell, Windows, and Linux environments. He later became an Internet services engineer working with DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and related applications at a regional ISP. He predominantly has been a network engineer and architect for enterprises in verticals including higher education, state government, consulting, finance, and technology. This is a VERY well-written, informative book.

This is an exceptionally well-crafted book which I believe delivers on its intention of being timeless. I personally consider this book an updated and evolved version of Radia Perlman’s classic “Interconnections”. Like Radia’s book, “Computer Networking Problems and Solutions” covers a large range of important fundamental topics and demonstrates the vast web of interdependencies among all of the different technologies covered. This book should be considered required reading for both students of network engineering and computer science alike. Even if you are a seasoned veteran with computer networking, I guarantee you will still find an enormous amount of very useful information and be able to use this book as a point of reference for many years.

Love everything about this book so far, more to come, it will take a while to get through it and digest.

It's defenitely a non one time book. A lot of information, deep dive to essencial networking topics and many links to additional sources. Bravo Russ and Ethan!
